Safety planning is critical whether you are planning to leave your partner or not. Understand what domestic violence is and how to protect yourself.

We are only able to help victims of domestic violence through the help and support of our volunteers and donors.

SVABW is committed to educating our community about the cycle of domestic violence and its effects on all involved.

We offer crisis and ongoing support services to victims of domestic violence and their children across Scott and Carver Counties.

For 35 years, Southern Valley Alliance for Battered Women has provided crisis support, advocacy, and education to victims of domestic violence.  The journey began with Maxine Kruschke’s passion to assist other women living with domestic violence following her own violent marriage.   SVABW has grown into a prevention and solutions focused organization partnering with law enforcement, county legal systems, social services and healthcare providers to make the communities of Scott and Carver counties a better, safer place to live.  Our journey continues as we support victims and their families and create awareness to End Domestic Violence in our communities.

Southern Valley Alliance for Battered Women is a non-profit organization founded by community women and dedicated to providing the victims and family members of domestic violence with support, referrals, protection and advocacy. We proudly serve Scott and Carver counties in Minnesota.

Southern Valley Alliance for Battered Women’s mission is to assist victims of domestic violenceWe assist victims of domestic violence with exploring the medical, legal and social service options available to them. We listen to a victim’s needs and encourage her to make her own decisions. An advocate stands ready to help her in meeting those needs by accompanying her through the alternatives she chooses.

We welcome victims of any race, color, creed, religion, ancestry, national origin, affectional preference, age, marital status, physical challenge or status with regard to public assistance.
